📎Sharing Files in Microsoft Teams
You can easily share files in Microsoft Teams — whether they're stored in OneDrive, your local device, or already in a Teams channel.
Files can be shared in chat messages or channel posts, and you can choose to either upload the file or send a link.
🧑🤝🧑 Share a File in a One-on-One or Group Chat
In your chat, click the Attach (📎) button below the message box.
Choose the file source:
OneDrive – to share from your cloud storage
Upload from my computer – to upload a file from your device
Select the file and click Share or Open.
✅ This will upload a copy of the file into the chat.
You can also go to the Files tab within the chat and select Share to upload a file.🧑🤝🧑 Share a File with Your Team in a Channel
In the channel, click the Attach (📎) button below the message box.
Choose one of the following options:
Recent – pick a file you've recently opened and select Upload a copy
Browse Teams and Channels – choose a file already available in Teams and select Upload a copy or Share a link
OneDrive or Upload from my computer – select and then choose Upload a copy or Open
The file will be shared in the channel message.
🚀 Quick Tip
If the file is on your computer, you can drag and drop it directly into the message box to share it.
